Default Gear information

I have a 1994 mustang GT auto, with the stock 2 73 gears. I bought 3 73 gears. I was wondering if putting the new gears in will mess up the engines computer? Is there anything I need to know before having them installed? Any problems at all?

thanks David

get a 23t speedo gear from anywhere.... 50resto.com, etc, etc, etc. it will make your speedo a little closer. I just had my 3.73's installed along with a transgo shift kit hd-2. Much more fun to drive now. I have a 95. Oh, and by the way, I had my shift kit put in the same time as gears. I recommend a shift kit for your auto, no more "coasting" into gear and probaly more important than installing gears in my opinion. Also get the bushing/bearing kit from mustangtuning.com "mustangboards" will save you 6%. As long as you are getting gears installed, its cheap insurance for your "rearend". As for 3.73 vs 4.10, I would skip both and put in 4.30's. But, on the freeway, my rpms are around 2200 rpms and with gas over 3/gallon, I like it the way it is.... good luck!

oh, and by the way, my car has 18" wide azz tires..... a skinny, smaller tire will be much different. as for computer, no problems, just install and drive!!
