Default Spinner Hubcaps

This doesnt really have much to do with Mustangs but I know you guys can relate. I was on my way home from a drive today and I saw your typical POS early 90s Honda sedan with 20K in electronics inside but still with the near-dead engine. But what always makes me think are these spinner hubcaps (which the car had also). Does anyone here know someone who has those? I always wonder if these people are serious about these "spinners" or if they got them for novelty purpose.

Yea thats exactly what I was thinking. I just wanted to post here and see if anyone knows someone who has them and are actually serious. Some of my import friends make fun of ricers with me on a daily basis and these spinner hubcaps come up often. One friend is getting an S2000 but keeping his Civic, just to rice out with cardboard, spinning hubcaps and other hilarious novelty items.

I kinda get the idea behind spinners..."bling" as they call it these days. Just another way to make your car an eyesore. Someone just had to take a bad idea and make it cheap.

What I wanna know is who the hell pioneered the ' 10" lifted sedan (i.e. Crown Vic) with 30" lo-profile tires AND spinners' idea. Anyone else seen this?

Hey whats wrong with my D-Hub Spinnaz?! If I didnt have them you could see my ugly azz Y2K 18"s Gah, who wants to see those ugly non-D-Hub non-Spinnaz? Not I!

I think it is a waste of time and money but obviously there is a market out there to the Dumbass kids that live at home and crackheads that think their 86' RS Camaro is fo0-reakin hot and that its some ultra rare car cause its an RS and that makes it better than a Z28 or I-ROCK (Seriously, my neighbor accorss the street is like that and thinks that the RS is an ultra rare V8)

Isnt there beter things that we can do with petrolium based products like burn em? I can even stand real spinners, its a waste of money, adds weight to the car and just looks like shiz.

Just like the "lowrider cars" that were around for awhile, you know, the ones with axle spacers and cut springs. These will pass into oblivion.
Like the "jacked up" cars of my high school days. The rear ends of those poor abused cars were raised with whatever we could find so that they kinda looked like the funny cars that were running at the drag strip. The higher the better.

spinners are a joke, they increase un-sprung weight, which puts more wear and tear on suspension and hurts handling, PLUS you have spinning weight that can not be balanced, so your tires will bounce more hurting both the ride quality and handling. Whoever invented these dumb things has no clue about automotive design. This is the ONLY time I will say this, but you would be better off with 80 spoke Daytons.
