The long tubes shouldnt rub.
And this is a very easy novice rated job you are tackling dont worry about it.But if you for some reason come into a problem ask ill help you out.
A word of advice is to get a very high quality set of header gaskets. They like to blow out and very easily.Ive changed mine a total of 4 times and this last time i doubled steel gaskets and used high temp rtv to seal them up once and for all.If you dont mind the 3 extra bucks buy some high temp copper rtv silicone and go around each exhaust port front and back of the header gaskets before putting them on.You wont want to be doing this twice trust me.[:'(]
But if for some reason you cant pull this off and have to take it to a shop you should stop wasting time and sell her to me.Ill give her a good home i promise!LOL

I have the same set-up you have (check my signature) but my car is a 00 GT.. let me tell you the longtubes are a pain to install, the engine needs to be moved a little bit to fit the header on the passenger side, also dont forget the 02 extensions... I went to a Shell gas station and they did the job for$120 I stayed there all the time and I made sure that they did a good job. That was liek a year ago and my car runs just fine... Good luck
Yeah well that was 120 well spent!LMFAO!
You can put the car on jack stands and unbolt the motor mount (ONE NUT) and use a peice of wood and a floor jack to get the clearance you need.
But if these BBK's have a slip joint you wont need to do that. Its gong to take a few minutes to work it in there but they will go and without moving the motor.
This may not be true with the 4.6's though since theyre much wider than a 302 but in your fox it will be fine just take your time.

annnnnnd my dog ate one of the gaskets...

As for gaskets, should i just try and find the original gaskets that came with the exhaust manifold?
or should i try and find some steel ones like you were talking about....
or should i just reorder the normal ones and just use that RTP Copper stuff on it?
really sucks, wanted to try and do it today and tomorrow.
damn dog...
Also, I think my car is running lean. Its idling very low now and it doesnt feel right when driving.
I have my 75mm MAF on but not the 24# injectors...(the maf was setup for 24#)
I started noticing this after i put in my Fenderwell CAI
so would just changing the injectors over fix this?
I was planning on changing the whole thing monday when my upper/lower intake came in
my 70mm TB and 70mm EGR is sitting in a box waiting for my intake too
should i wait or change the TB/EGR/Injectors or just injectors now or would it be safe til persay monday?
kinda dont wanna ****up my car but really dont want to drive my winter beater
Gaskets im looking at now

PS isnt it funny how you can see the cuss words when you quote or edit a message with cuss words in it?
whatever you do, make sure you get the car up as high as you can on some good sturdy jackstands. and make sure it is stable on the stands too. you don't want to be shaking the car around with you under it and have it come crashing down on you! before you start, get some good liquid wrench penetrating oil and soak all the header bolts and studs with it. apply some and come back 30 minutes later and apply some more before you put the first wrench on them. also soak the O2 sensors the same way. remove the O2 sensors first before you loosen the headers at the heads. the gaskets you show look OK, those or Mr. Gasket header gaskets are good ones also. you will have to disconnect and remove the air hoses and stuff on the passenger side from the air pump in order to get room to work on this side. take a picture before you start so you know where to put everything back when you get done. the stock H-pipe needs to come completely out before you can attempt to install the long tubes, so remove it first before you go for the headers. the pipe hangers can be a real pain also.[:@] you might want to unbolt the whole thing from the chassis first and then pull the hanger out of the rubber grommet. this takes a 8 mm socket on the two bolts holding the hangers if I remember correctly. use some WD-40 or liquid detergent on the rubbers to make the hangers slide in/out easier, but it still takes some cussing to make them go on.[:@] if you use any sealant on the header gaskets, make sure you check the label first and make certain that it is safe to use with O2 sensors or you will kill them real quick. I don't use any sealant on header gaskets myself. The ones from Earl's already have sealant on them around the ports and that's all you need. as you get the bolts started in the headers, leave them finger loose until you have got all of them started before you tighten them as this allows you to jiggle the headers around to get the other bolts started. get some anti-seize compound and use a small amount on the bolts to make them easier to remove in the future also. anti-sieze is messy stuff and a small amount will get all over you and everything you touch, so use just a tiny bit on the threads on the various bolts and use it on all the bolts in the exhaust system. another trick is to put the gasket on the header flange and get a bolt through it on each end to hold the gasket in place. then, holding the bolts, slip the header up against the head and start these bolts into their holes. this will keep the gasket from slipping out of position and make it a lot easier to get the other bolts in. a bit of duct tape on the bolt heads to help hold them on the flange is also acceptable just don't get any on the gasket side of the flanges. you can also use a small diameter philips head screwdriver to help line up the gasket with the holes too. just don't bugger up the threads in the heads with too much pressure from the screwdriver. I would start on the drivers side first as this side will be the easier side to do and what you learn here you can apply to the other side when you get over there. having a friend hold the headers from underneath is also a good thing to help get the bolts started. good luck!
