ORIGINAL: roundmanracing

but if his tune is less than $100, I'd give it a try as you will spend that much or more for a good regulator anyway.
nah the chip alone is gonna cost me 120$ and then he charges 105$ an hour so for now I'm thinkin about gettin the regulator.

whats a good brand to go with thou? should I have a shop install it and do I have to adjust the regulator myself 2 correct the lean condition or does it adjust automaticly?....sorry for all these questions but I really wanna get this problem fixed...thanks guys

that's a good price on a chip. I would think it over and let him do it as I think there ain't no guarantee the problem is with your regulator. don't know about the 03's, but installing one on my 88 5.0 was a bit of a pain in the ***, but I got it done after a couple of hours of busting my knuckles taking **** off to get access to it. it sits in an awkward position and is held in place with allen head screws that don't have room to get a ratchet on so you have to turn the wrench a little bit each time then pull it out and turn again. on top of that, you'll need a $50 pressure gauge in order to see and adjust the pressure too unless you can beg or borrow one from someone or an auto parts store.
