I have head about turning the engine a few times before actualy starting but i have no clue how to do this. I someone coiuld give me some advice on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the distributor out. Use a big drill and priming tool to prime the engine with oil. Spin the drill counter clockwise untill all the rockers have oil flowing over them. You may need to turn the engine by hand a little bit to line the lifters up with the oil holes.
OR
Pull the coil wire ( disable the ignition ) and crank it over until it has oil pressure.
