Default abs brakes

My abs light is on. I found the rear wheel sensors to be bad and replaced them.
The brakes seem to work well and the bas is functional. The light is still on.
How do I reset the light? or is there another problem?

thanks
dave

Default RE: abs brakes

they yeah there still is an issue

try dis

turn ignition off locate data link connector on engine compartment distribution box. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No.2(orange/white wire) and # 6 (black wire) at abs data link connector. Watch abs light and turn key to the on position. If any DTC's have been detected each code will flashed out only once after entering diagnositic mode. If no codes are stored DTC 12 will flash. AFter all DTC's have flashed the light will remain on untill ignition is switched off

code meanings

12=system ok
19=abs control module
22=rf valve
24=lf valve
26=rear abs valve
31=rf wheel sensor
32=rr wheel sensor
33=lf wheel sensor
34=lr wheel sensor
41=rf wheel sensor
42=rr wheel sensor
43=lf wheel sensor
44=lr wheel sensor
61=pump/motor relay
63=voltage interruption
69=low voltage
78=sensor frequency

*****DISCLAIMER**** i take no resposibility for anything goin BOOM!
lol

This may sound like a dumb question, but where is the "data link connector on engine compartment distribution box".
I just bought the car and new to this ford stuff. first 5.0 mustang.

well just FYI

this is used on a new edge stang 99-04

but it should STILL work on your stang

but i have no clue where the datalink connector is

its says "engine compartment distribution box" so i would start there

I dont have abs on my 04 gt.
Is there a way that I can add abs to it? If so, about how much would it cost?

Very iffy question... Yes you CAN, anything can be done, but the cost is another issue.

All 99-04 stangs that had ABS, had traction control, too. You would need to get all the hardware from Ford... It would be rather expensive I could imagine. The system is simple though and could be installed easily. If you have a knowledgable friend that works at Ford, talk to him about it (a random tech could possibly just feed you BS). Ask for the cost of a new ABS module and the cost for sensors. The sensors should be cheap... the main module will be the expensive part.
