you might want to look at some new rear end control arms too. they will help with the weight tranfer and plant the tires better, but you still need to lower the launch rpms to keep from spinning the tires so much, then hammer it after you get rolling.

compound of tire is more important than size....

Bingo. You're lucky to add 5% more traction with a wider tread of the same compound, but you can get insance increases with better compounds.
Who makes a tire like that with a better compound?
