Has anyone ever done a 5.0 to 4.6 swap? Reason is, I have an 86 GT that I blew the motor in, and I have a 98 GT that I just totaled and I want to put the 4.6 in my 86. Iv'e got quite a bit of money in my 4.6 and just figured I would drop it in the 86. Just lookin for opinions. Thanks guys.

 

I think it would rock to see a 4.6 '86. I cant imagine it would be very difficult either, seeing as the sn-95's arent really that much different than the fox's. Only thing I think you would have to use the trans outta your '86. i'd see if the bellhousing bolt holes to the block matched up.

I was not wearing my seatbelt and walked away with only a scratch. Damn sure I'm wearin it now! 24 yrs old and this was my first wreck. Anyway, I have decided to go ahead and do the swap. Ain't nothin but a thing.
