Yea, the 900 thing was only if you did get all the money for it being totaled. I would see what you can do yourself and then just maybe look into getting it painted once it's fixed. The rear is gonna take up the estimate a lot cause it's not a bolt on part, if they replace the rear fender they're gonna have to cut and weld. If you can knock that out and find the parts yourself at a junkyard or something find out if that would change it. Get some estimates from places without parts.

Egh, I just spent about 3k in parts. Half of which arnt even in yet.

If theyre bitching about 4200 then they wont be handing me a check for the totalled car for like 4k

I have a $1000 deductible (18 had to keep insurance lower somehow)

Really hope they repair it.
If its totalled then I have those parts OUT of the box in my sunroom floor.
Brand New just waiting to go in.
Was going to plop on my new intake(upper/lower) fuel injectors, throttle body, egr, and maf

but now this came up so
egh
cant even get like full price for the parts i got if im forced to total
and watch them give me like 1500 for the car or something stupid like that.

USAMuscle I live up in NH
you ANYWHERE near me?
even if youre a couple hours away ill do it
couple as in like 5 or somethin?

OWWW!!! that sucks!!
The tuff part with the quote is the paint. Yes the damage is easy fix, it's the color that is hard.
Black is one of the hardest colors to match, expecailly on a 12yr old car. The paint can be in perfect condition, but it is still fadded. When black is only a couple of shades off compared to the rest it is very noticble.

When I first got my honda, I went to pick it up, I took one look at the car and didn't take it and I said want a new one. They were like "WHA?" I said the car was damaged on the passanger side front fender and door. They tried to play dumb, didn't work. Walked up one side and down the other of the manager and sales man. The car was flamingo pearl black, it had silver and blue flakes in it. The pass. fender and door had been repainted because they were a different shade and the flakes were not consistant(more blue flakes than silver) with the hood, bumper and rear quarter, but you only noticed it at certian angles.

After I was able to point out the damage and that it was repainted, the manager called the body shop guy they talked and they gave up and said that the car had been repainted, but would give me a deal If i took plus repaint the car. NOPE! new car and I want it by the end of the week plus a little off for having to put up with this, it was wensday night! Himming and hawing more arguing the manager did it, made some calls, got me another car, took 1000. off and i was off.

I hope you don't have to go through the total issue that would suck. Was the apprasier from the insurance company the only guy the sent? It sound like you said they sent a different person before? Insurance companies usually only send one.

No, I went to a couple body shops in town. Got their take on it.
Then I went to the insurance company because I KNEW i couldnt pay for it.

But now that this is come up, wish I had just taken out a loan

Well worst case if you did get the money you coudl still keep or remove all your good parts first and maybe buy another one to put all your stuff on.

IMO, I would either fix the car, slowly, over time or take out all the stuff that you invested and have the insurance total it and take the four grand and ust that as a good downpayment on a new Cobra or Mach1. Then sell all the parts because im assuming they are for a 5.0 and use that money to soup up the car you buy. Thats what I would do but I also know what sentimental value is so its kind of a hard decision. Your stuck between a rock and a hard place.

And by the way... if you do file it on insurance you have to think of the enormous price jump for having a accident on your record, weather there were violations or not attached to it. I went through the same thing with my F150 about two years ago and to this day my insurance is running me about $300 a month on my GT. Let us know what you decide to do and good luck!

They're bitching about 4200 cuase of flat out numbers. They have a set value for what your car is worth and if their estimate is higher then that it's totaled... Meaning that they give you the value they have for your car and then take your car in exchange for that amount. This is when you have the option of buying it back (they have already given you the book value for your car) for however muhc like someone else was talking about before.
