Default Driveshaft rubbing

I have a 94 v6 mustang. Lately, when i've been accelerating hard, there's a crazy rubbing sound from the bottom rear of the car. I climbed under there and the driveshaft is rubbing onto the brakeline that runs along the bottom of the car. The line is flush with the body of the car, so the driveshaft must be getting abnormally close to the body. I put these little rubber spacers in my rear coilsprings and it didn't seem to help much. any suggestions? new shocks? springs? is something really wrong?[:@][:@][:@][:'(]

sounds like the rear end is rotating upward under hard acceleration more than it should be and this lets the driveshaft hit like it does. you need to check all the rear control arms to see if the bushing are badly worn letting the rear end move too much. also could be the motor mounts or tranny mounts are bad/broken letting the engine torque up too much in the chaissis and misaligning the driveshaft, but you said the noise is coming from the rear, so I would look there first. the simpliest thing could be the stock pinion snubber is broken off and this lets the nose of the rear come up too far causing the driveshaft to rub. I would check out the snubber first and replace it if the rubber is shot or missing from it.

maybe it is the motor mount, i know that the engine runs good, but it kinda.... rocks around. It makes the car shudder every few seconds, not very much, but noticable. Is the snubber thing you are talking about the rubber stopper thing that's right above the differential?

ok, i know that it's still there, so what i don't get is how come if it's there and its stopping the diff from getting too high, why is the shaft still rubbing? the shaft is rubbing about 2 feet in front of the diff.

it still could be bad bushings in the control arms or they might be bent, also motor mounts, shocks, etc.

See if you can get the car under load while you can look under it, like get a whole bunch of your friend to get in or something and put cinder blocks on their laps. Or just load up the trunk with sandbags and see if you can get it to get down to the point of rubbing and you can see what's going on.
