Yea, bigger can actually hurt you in some cases, this isn't one of them but it's not always the best.

having a bigger air filter is only neccessary if you NEED a bigger air filter... does it make sense to have a filter that flows 5000 CFMs when your engine only eats up 600???? Buy what you need, that way you'll have more money for more mods later... don't listen to the "bigger is better" crowd.
If it's a matter of need why even bother with a performance intake at all. If you're going to shell out coin for performance you may as well give yourself space to breathe.

It's not gonna hurt to get a bigger filter but an intake will help flow over the stock, probably just as much cuase it's smoother as it is due to any increase in diameter. The stock pipin has all the ridges and everything else.

Hey,

I got one put on mine and works great. Took about 30mins to install. Best part about it is you look under the hood and see a big chrome pipe and got rid of the ugly silencer all together. I recommend it, and for only 45 bucks, its better than stock. T. J.

Yea, bottom line get it, you'll like it. I did notice a small differance in the way mine drives when I put it on and I already had the silencer and all of that out.

Alright, guys, I'm going to do it today! I just wish I could buy it from a store, online or not, rather than doing e-bay crap.

If I can talk to Victor from Easy Speed today I might just get me my magnaflows too!

P.S. Granted I bought my car used, but I can't for the life of me find the air silencer. Maybe the '98 didn't have one? It's just the tube w/ the plastic housing for the filter goes right next to the square hole in the fender...nothing in the fender either????

If there's nothing in the fender it's already gone.

I bought one of those intakes also. Great bang for the buck, it does take a little finess to make it fit though. But nothing a six pack and some elbow greese cant fix!

Yea, I had to "adjust" the strut tower a bit.
