Ok... I just changed my stock mufflers for Magnaflow mufflers, how much HP and Torque do you think I added by switching, the specs on the Magnaflow mufflers are:

4"X 9" Oval Aluminized steel - part # 11376 (got to of course)

this is for a 2001 Mustang SVT Cobra

the Magnaflow web site said it add's about 10% more HP, the 01 SVT comes with 320 HP so + 10% = 352 HP

the guy that installed them said that it would add 15 HP per muffler X 2 = 30 HP + 320 HP = 350 HP

does that sound accurate to you techs out there ?

the other thing that I have done to my cobra is remove the damn silencer which they say it add's about 3 HP ( ? )

i'd have to say that mufflers might FREE up about 10HP, just my guess

10 -12 hp is about whats expected outta those, Your freein up some ponies for sure but its not a huge jump in numbers...

Not sure about the silencer.... I dont think that is going to make a diff you can feel

manufacters are going to "pad their stats" a little bit...like bolt on 150 horse with this supercharger...not necessarily...almost always parts will produce less power than they say!

That sounds about right for a typical magnaflow change on a 4.6, the cobras usually get a tad bit more than a gt - as the higher you rev the more power their freeing up. The silencer has a documented 2-3 hp gain on gt's - and like I said before its more on a cobra because they rev higher. Your not gonna really feel the 2-3hp much though, maybe see it on the track.

Thank you all for your info. - so it's probably safe to say that I probably just increased about 15 HP MAX and 10 HP as MIN - another question this one goes to Cobra Techs or Cobra owners - like I said before I have an 01' Cobra when I got it, it had the K&N air filter already installed, does it come with it already or did the last owner probably installed it ??? what do you think? thanks!
