both cars have 300 pounds difference from each other, and then a cobra has a 300 more pounds different then a GT.

thes are just averages. cuz that show it is on the 99-04's

V6, weighs 3,000
GT 3,300
Cobra 3,600

and then the 05+'s are a hundrund pounds or more then the current

I have found part of my answere at modular depot forums. they have compiled a nifty spec sheet there that includes the weight of the 4.6l engine. its under modular engine specs incase any one has the same question.

FYI: 4.6-liter SOHC and DOHC
Aluminum block weight (bare): 86 lbs.
Iron block weight (bare): 154 lbs.
Assembled cylinder head weight: 44 lbs.*
Displacement: 4.6 liters/281 cubic inches
Bore: 3.552 inches
Stroke: 3.543 inches
Bore spacing: 3.937 inches
Main journal dia.: 2.657 inches
Rod journal dia.: 2.086 inches
Rod length: 5.933 inches
Deck height: 8.937 inches
*Assembled 302 iron head weighs approx. 55 lbs.

which means a gt's engine would weigh about 130 lbs for a alluminum engine and 209 lbs for a iron block fully assembled

Correct me if I'm wrong, but: 86+44+44=174 not 130, and 154+44+44=242 not 209. That's with bare blocks, which mean minus the rotating assembly.

my bad. so my calc would have given me the weight of a bare block + heads, darn I was starting to think I had some thing there.
