I pulled out of my driveway and discovered a puddle of transmission fluid (?) under the car - after jacking it up I traced the leak to this thing - front drivers side near the wheel (you can see the red drip). What is it and how do I fix it? (1969 Grande 2 Door Coupe)

 

are you sure it isn't power steering fluid? that would make more sense if it is up near the front of the car, i would check the power steering system...that is if you 69 has power steering

 

Looks to be power steering fluid. Check your reservior for missing fluid.

 

Tranny cooler line leaking? Does it go from the tranny to the radiator?

 

Like said above, looks like power steering fluid to me.

Has to be power steering fluid especially since the lines are on the drivers side, the trans lines are usually routed to the passenger side to the radiator or external trans cooler. It may be the lines that are going to the steering gear or rack. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

 

Im guessing power steering as well. Ford are notorious for power steering problems as well.

 

use ATF when filling it
