DOWN FALL TO LOWERING IT 2 INCHE'S?
I am looking at lowering my 99 mustang 2 inche's can some one tell me what I will have to do to lower it this much? I know I will have to get new spring's but what's the down fall to going this low?
The feel of the car, you will sacrafice the smoothniss of the ride, you will feel every little bump, it gets anoyying real quick, but theres a big handling difference its far better but you win some you loose some, your best bet would be to go with air ride tech. thats what i will be getting soon, and lemme tell you its bad ***.

lowered 2 inches for about a year and a half now. after a year the car went out of camber prety badly and i had to get some camber plates. but other then that.. nothing is really wrong. iam still on stock struts and shocks actually.

I bought my car with sportlines, and I just finally got good camber plates in it, but I think I set the spacers wrong for the strut nut... cuz it rubs when i make a hard right turn now, so I gotta adjust the spacers... no big deal
I as well have the OEM stock struts/shocks too... and hey, if they aren't broken, why fix um?

iam running the same setup and later got camber plates as well. the kewl thing about camber plates is that some camber plates moves your struts up. so the ride quality improves alot because with the struts moved up, its not longer compressed alot like it was when you lowered it without new struts. (the struts are closer at compression when they were at stock) and then with shocks. you dont really need new shocks because after market shocks have the same part number as stock ones. (Struts on the other hand theres a few differnt aftermarket part number types, one for a lowered vehical and 1 with stock part number)
even if you didnt get camber plates right away the car might still get alligned, but later nock it self out of allignment because the stock camber adjustment can not be changed on teh factory camber plates. but i personally prefer doing it with out camber plates first.. cuz it will probly allign when you take it to the shop and it will stay like that for about a year. and then you could get camber plates and really notice the diffrence in quality of handling.
IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY DEFINITLY GET THE PLATES AT THE SAME TIME. but if not its no biggy.. alot of people do springs only for a while and the noticed they really needed camber plates. and then when you got camber plates. it ****ed alot of the rough riding issues. because i was planning on getting struts as well. but the car drove like a caddy after i got those camber plates on.
I used Maximum Motorsport camber plates by the way.
Yeah I got maximum motorsports, I learned the hard way not to use UPR.
right now, however having installed the MM plates, now when I make a right turn the left tire rubs? I looked underneath and the stupid fu**ing windshield fluid reservoir caused them to make an exension on the wheel well so it protrudes about 1.5" into the well.. [:@]
I hope after an alignment this will go away... i'm wondering if I set the spacers wrong as to above/below the CC plate...
