CABIN DRONE
Looking for a remedy for my cabin drone that I am experiencing in my 06 GT. I recently installed a pair of aftermarket mufflers which look great, sound awesome, but the cabin drone at 1,800 - 2,000 RPM is WEARING ME OUT! I am almost tempted to switch back to the stock mufflers! A friend of mine suggested I install sound-deadening material (B-Quiet Ultimate or Dynamat) in my trunk area. Does this REALLY work, or is it a gimmick? It does not look like anything more than paper-thin tar paper. If anyone has had experience with this material, or can think of a better alternative please advise. . .
No. The aftermarket mufflers I had installed on my 06 GT are MAC. The 4" chrome tips look great, sound is awesome at idle, and intimidating when starting up and at full throttle. But when at 1800-2000 RPM, the Drone is annoying!
