what will make this "because my strut was hanging out of my hood after hitting a pot hole on the highway." not happen to me even if I buy lowered spring's?

ya after that happened i bought eibach springs and they drive great with maximum motorsport camber plates. i highly recommend it. i actually bought the maximum motorsport camber plates and eibach's from one of this websites's sponsors. might have been autobadges.com or stangsuspension.com (its the same company and the same guy) hes prety kewl. he actually PMed me and offered me a deal after the hood accident.

you CAN cut them but as you said, do not use heat. Use a cutting wheel.

It's not something I would recommend though for two reasons....

1) you will change the spring rate and it might not seat properly.

2) real lowering springs are cheap!

I know a guy who cut his and lowered the car an inch. It seems fine. He did it over a year ago.

Again, it is not something that I would recommend but it has been done.
