PATS device help
Hi,
I recently posted a message asking for help with an intermittent starting problem. Since
that post - I think I diagnosed the problem as an alarm problem... but I'm still not sure how
to fix it.
Basically, here's when/how the problem started. My car was locked and the PATS device
was, in theory, set. Now, I don't know a lot about this PATS device - so I'm not 100% sure
this is what happened. Anyway - story continues - my battery dies. I can't disengage anything
and I get in the car using my key... I jump the car, but despite the fact that the battery
is charged, the car won't start - won't crank at all. After a day (but, in retrospect, really
just after the alarm got into a different cycle) the car started no problem. For about 3 days
it started without problem, only to randomly - a few days later - not start!
When it's not going to start - I have a warning because I'll see the alarm light blinking and
hear this blinker like sound. The auxilaries go on, but the car won't crank to start.
Oh - one other weird effect. The driver side door can't be unlocked with the key anymore.
I *have* to use the remote.
So, I guess the question is - is this a "problem" or is the car doing what it is supposed to do
in some cases and I'm just not properly cycling it into the right alarm state... and if so, how
do you get it reset???
Thanks so much for any help!!!
