Weird noise from the rear...
Hey, About 2 months ago I started hearing a weird rattling noise coming from the rear passenger side of the car whenever I went over any speed bumps. Now, I am getting a weird scratching/grinding noise...but it only happens when I shift from reverse into 1st, and begin to accelerate, and it only happens on an incline. Normal driving, the car is just fine.
I found that the passenger side trunk hydraulic lifter thing is slightly loose and rattles. I figured that's what the rattling noise was, but now that I'm getting a scratching/grinding noise from the same area, it makes me wonder if there isn't a more serious problem.
I duct taped the hydraulic lifter so that it would not rattle and I am still getting the grinding noise.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

RE: Weird noise from the rear...
I had what sounds like the same problem and it ended up being that the whole rear end was loose. I took it to the dealership and they tightened it right up, never heard the noise again. i would just take it to a mechanic and have them play with it to see if they can figure it out.

dunno why but that made me laugh
but yeah with this situation, it is much much easier to diagnose if you have a lift. It can probably be done if you jack the back of the car way up and get under there with a fine toothed comb...

RE: Weird noise from the rear...
I am going back to the Dealer tommorrow. They installed an adjustable Panhard rod.Roush shocks, lowering springs and a Roush sway bar.Now I get a clunck over bumps.I assume something isn't torqued correctly.Coincidently it's on the passenger side rear as well.
