Battery Question
I took delivery today on a new 2004 Mustang (V6). In checking it out I found that the Motorcraft Battery is one that has the little see through hole for checking its condition. But the hole is showing red instead of green. I always thought that would mean a battery problem which should be corrected. However the battery tests at 12.5 volts and everything seems to work OK. I cannot find anything on it in the owners manual and Ford Customer Care was of no help. The dealers service department only says that PROBABLY it will correct itself after driving for a couple of days.
Can anyone tell be whether this is a normal condition on a new battery that has been idle for awhile and will correct itself, or does it mean a problem that should be corrected now?

when i was looking to buy my car the sales guy had to jump start every stang on the lot i was looking at. lol not a good sales pitch. its becasue its been sitting in the lot and hasnt been started for so long. running the car should bring it back to life. im sure its ok if its putting out the power.
The battery color hole is really just for show. Pretty much when the battery loses its surface charge its gonna show as dead. Don't pay any attention to it. If your battery reads 12+ volts and holds a load thats all that matters.
