Default Gauge Cluster

So i have the corny 85mph speedo and i hate it alot, i looked into the 140speedo just like mine but im curious if i bought another cluster how does the mileage match up? i have 137,000 on it and the cluster has around i think 70,000. i like the cluster but i dont want to get it if i cant have my correct mileage.

I saw a artical on some website while searching around that if the mileage on another cluster is lower than yours when you plug it into yours the mileage will change automatically to what yours used to be is this true?

Only if your odometer is digital. Otherwise, you're better off starting with a zero mileage odometer and documenting the actual miles (although most states will consider the mileage to be in error if the vehicle is over 10 years old anyway).

I replaced my cluster, but i lived with the new mileage... for me it didnt matter cuz the old mileage didnt correctly reflect my engine miles anyway...
