what do the o2 sensors do on a 87 gt? will it hurt if they are not there i have a off road h pipe and a force 2 exh and no smog pump

 

haha, you have to run them. period.

 

They provide a signal to the computer that it uses to control the fuel injection and timing for the engine under normal driving conditions but are ignored at wide open throttle. so you do need to have them functioning for best engine performance with the computer control.
