Default roller rocker?

whats a roller rocker and what are its advantages over regular rockers. oh and why is it called a roller rocker. oh,lol, and how much would a set for a V8? and for a V8, you need 16 rocker arms right.....

Roller rockers have less friction than regular rocker arms and don't wear the valve guides as fast.They also need less energy to open and close the valves.Less energy used doing things like opening valves is more torque at the crank.

Also with roller rockers the cam lobes can be ground much steeper so the valves open/close a lot faster, giving you more effective duration.

Yep. You'll need to machine the heads for screw in studs as well as guide plates. That cost about $50 last time I had a pair of heads taken care of.
