No, it's alright, but it's just adequate enough to handle a stock Mustang, so if you want to mod your Mustang to kingdom come, then you should definitely get an aftermarket tranny.

HEY SO CAL I GOT A TKO 3550 IN MY 83GT NO PROBLEMS LOVE IT,,,ITS GOING TO BE LIKING MY 408,,,,GOT A PRO 5.0 SHIFTER,,,CENTER FORCE GOLD DUAL FRICTION DISC,,ALUM D/SHAFT,,,THE T-5 S HAD TREMCE ON THE SIDE OF THEM ..T-45 ARE WEAK I BROKE A FORK 3RD/AND/4TH,,IF I RUN A 8.98 OR BETTER I WILL BE THE RECORD HOLDER FOR THE STOCK TKO TRANS,,,.........YEA RIGHT IF THATS GOING TO HAPPEN...

I* sell Tremec Transmissions and have had no complaints from any customers in the past 2 plus years. Any Transmission can be a good transmission as long as there is an aftermarket quadrant assembly in the car. It is very important to be properly adjusted to make sure you have proper clutch engagement/disengaemnet. That is the killer of all transmissions. When people install the aftermarket quadrants they tend to adjust the clutch pedal for feel instead of function. You are supposed to adjust it for function not feel.
