Default Slight hesitation...

Hey All....

Just a minor issue. I am experiencing a slight hesitation with my 00-GT Roush S-1 when I start it up. It doesn’t seem to what to idle as smooth. I don't have any major engine mods, just a K & N air filter. I’ve kept up on ALL general maintenance, plugs, oil changes, fuel system cleaned and all that. The last time I experienced this my mechanic said he just cleaned out the throttle body and that was it, so I did that this evening, on my own and it seemed to be pretty dirty. But it didn’t seem to make as much of a difference as it did last time and it hasn’t been but a few months since it was done last. Is there any thing else I should be checking??? I also run 93 octane 95% of the time, could this be causing the hesitation as well?

Thanks for your help/suggestions!

Justin

You might want to pull and clean the idle air control motor on the side of the TB.
Also check the ouput voltage from the TPS sensor with the throttle closed and set it to .95 volts.

Just make sure you don;t clean out the 'sludge' that's meant to catch dirt...

id put in a msd blater 2 coil. its about $35 and will get rid of hesitation. before i installed mine, my car idled terribly. rpm's went up and down and the car shook a bit. now the idle is extremely smooth and the car doesnt shake at all. also, i have no hesitation at all.

just a thought.

I cleaned the control motor and at least it didn't die when I cranked it over the first time, a plus, but it still doesn't seem as crisp as before. I only have 56,000 on it. And what is this TPS senor you say to adjust to .95v? I have had this control motor cleaned once before and I noticed a big difference after that, so is it possible this one has just crapped out?

Thanks...
