Default RE: IAT TEMP BYPASS CHIP????

well my haynes manual doesnt' have a page 6-15 - stops at 6-12... nice...not that it's missing, just ain't there, no reference to an IAT either in the index...

Question - I'm bypassing the cooling plate on the throttle body(another discussion thread)... the gaskets were leaking and couldn't find them anywhere, so I put a new hose on and ran it around the throttle body... impacts?

and yes, my check engine light is on, but it's been on before that, reading IAT.. i'll have to run it again and get the exact code...

on the intake, i've replaced the ECT already....

Has anyone bought one of these chips from Ebay yet? They are really just resistors that bypass's the Intake Air Temp sensor and fools the computer to think its 32 degress outside! Do they work and has anyone had any problems with using it.
It will make you run rich and create a bunch of extra carbon deposits in your engine. In other words, junk, waste of money, find something else to do with your $20.
