Default power seat

I have a 96 gt, and my drivers side seat doesn't move forward/backward....the motor makes noise (not an abnormal noise or anything) just doesn't move the seat...is there something I need to look at, a loose connection or anything? it kinda sux cuz I have a 5 spd, and the seat sits just far enough back to be a pain in my ****....even if it is unreparable, is there any way to move the seat forward some? thanks in advance!!

Default RE: power seat

We just bought a 96 GT and it does the same thing. The wife needs to have the seat further foreward than I do so when she drives I have her sit in it and work the switch as I push the seat foreward (hard). When I drive it I just sit in it and push it back as I work the switch. It don't move on its own.
I'm gonna guess the gears are stripped out in mine and am researching how to find replacement gears. I hope they are still available but I doubt it. Maybe there is another model car that has a better set-up that we can use. I'll let you know if I find the cure and you please do the same.
Good luck,
Chas
