The dry cell batteries (like Optima) would be great for you because they are vibration resistant (unlike normal batteries) and I'm sure you car vibrates the hell outta stuff with the cams its got

 

HEY MD I WAS LEANING TOWARD THE OPTIMA,,CHECKED THEM OUT IN SUMMITT ,,THEY GOT LIKE 1000 CCA,,MINES AN INTERSTATE MEGA TRON,,GOT NOV. 01,,,GOT 700 CCA....GOING TO TRY BETTER BATTERY ,,JUSY DIDNT NOW A HOLE LOT ABOUT THE OPTIMAS,,INTERSTATE CHECK THE BATTERY SAID IT WAS GOOD...MAYBE JUST AINT ENOUGHT WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT THE LAST TIME AT THE TRACK,,??????

 

Also, as Im sure you know, as starters get hotter they draw more amps - 700 CCA is ALOT, but its not alot for a 12.5:1 stroked motor

 

optima, hands down. ive never had one but e everyone i know says its a must for high permormace vehicals

 

you could also install a timing retard for starting up the motor that will make it easier to crank over. MSD has them I believe.
Another option is to go for a 16 volt racing battery just for the starter and keep a 12 volt for everything else. Or you could hook up 2 12 volts in series to get 24 volts for the starter only and run only one battery for the rest of the electrical circuits.

I GOT THE MSD TIMING CONTROL DONT MATTER WHERE I TURN THE **** STILL DONT TURN OVER LIKE ITS DRAGGING,,195PSI CRANKING PRESSURE....I HAVE NOT CHECKED STARTED AMPS HOT NEED TO TAKE IT TO WORK TO DO THAT..IF IT DIES ON THE WAY THERE NO CRAKING IT BACK UP...I GOT BLACK MAGIC ELECT FAN,,IT DRAWS ALOT OF AMPS I CANT LEAVE IT RUNNING FOR LONG AFTER I SHUT MOTOR OFF,,,PROB.GET A BAD A@@ BATERY TRY THAT IF STILL DOES GET HI TORQUE STARTER I GOT 3 GROUND STRAPS,,GOT GOOD GROUND FOR SURE....

 

I just bought OPTIMA red top battery, Damn it works like a charm, I am very happen with it, It cranks good for high compression engines, I even got my uncle to get 1 for his 93 stang drag car

 

WHO SELLS THEM ,,LIKE IN TOWN,,STORES...ANY??
