Default RE: 351 vs current

yea, im not looking to get a different body. I like my 84 style. Plus like said before, a 351w with this and that on it will be alot better than a regular newer car. Do any engines that you buy come with a transmission or are they always separate? Would brakes off an 87 or up stang go on the 84? from the junk yard? Another friend of mine said 351's u buy in the junkyard that you would get rebuild may be better than a new crate one. Opinions on the rebuilt one vs. a new crate one? Thanks

Well the 351w in the junk yard may have other mods, But they dont all have them, I would rather get a crate one or get a local shop to build one with a machined block, With new pistons / rings / cam lifters etc. Some things are good to get at the junk yard, Most things are playing with some one else's problems. I bought a posi lock rear end one time it lasted a month then broke still under 3 month warranty, Still I got fed up, Took it to a shop got it rebuilt for better peace of mind.

Good Luck
