Default brake help!

I've got a 98 3.8L sixer, and it needs front pads. I'm fairly inexpirienced with working on cars, and even less expirienced with brakes. my best friend's dad has worked on cars all his life, and I was gunna have him help me out on it. would it be a bad idea?

No, if youve never done brakes before its ALWAYS a good idea to have someone around that has practical experience. He'll show you the PROPER way of doing them, what to lube, what not to lube, what to clean, and what lubricants to use. Definitly have him watch over what youre doing.

Do yourself a favor and install Hawk street performance pads. You can either buy or order them at most any chain type auto parts store. Pep Boys stocks them. Your car will stop MUCH better even with stock rotors. Good stuff and won't "brake" the bank.
