hi guys im doin an install on my friends car....he has a 03 5sp.....were doin a short throw...we came across a problem. we got the new shifter on and it shifts from 3rd to 4th with ease. but it wont go into 1st 2nd 5th or R. why. is there somethin i need to do that im not doin. by the way its a fidanza shifter. im pretty sure he has the T-3650 so i know not to use the stops. but what am i missing???? any help would be appreciated, as soon as possible cuz he needs to go somewhere tonight. thanx

 

Man, I have done a short throw add on and can't imagine what it could be other then if it went in backwards or it was not made for that transmission... If it is something else, I'ld be interested in hearing about it.

 

Are you sure that you got the ball of shifter in the slot, sorry, but I cant think of anything else.

 

Only manufacturer can help you out with that.


Ive got MGW shifter, and it went in without any effort or drama. U reuse the plastic cap on the end of the shifter ball that goes into the tranny, dont you? You didnt drop it and left inside the tranny?



Usually if something as simple as shifter install is going wrong, it means people cant follow simple instructions. [:'(]

 

haha yea either its the wrong shifter or you guys really suck
