Default Anyone painted their muffler?

Has anyone painted their muffler? I'm thinking about painting mine black, as I think it would look better when viewed from the back.
Of course high-temp paint is a must. Any reason not to do this?
Thanks...

I painted my Spiral Flows with a high temp black. Looks good and helps 'em last.

Why the heck do you wanna paint a muffler?? Won't the heat just peel off the paint in two weeks??

I dunno about doing it for looks but it's a good idea to coat your mufflers with paint to prevent rust. I know every Flowmaster muffler I've had has got rusty real quick.

To prevent rust. Not if you use the right paint.

I would do it for looks. Specs say "stainless steel exhaust system". Is the mufller itself stainless steel? If so, I wouldn't worry about it rusting.

use a Grill paint, the heat wont bother it and it is a nice deep black.

If it's advertised as stainless, then I would hope the muffler is stainless. Mine are welded steel...hence the need for paint (Moroso Spiral Flows).
