Default Who has changed their 5spd flywheel?

I got a grinding when I turn over my car sometimes. I am assuming I have flywheel wear. How difficult is it to pull a trans in fox 5.0s? Anybody done this that can tell me how much work? The only thing stopping me from doing this right now is the fact that I drive this car to work every day right now!

Thanks!

www.autozone.com for repair info

Basically, you stand it on jack stands. Pull the shifter assembly out, unbolt the tranny, then hug it and pull it out of there. Its 100 lbs, so dont raise car too far up.

If you live near me I can help you out.

You can do it in 6-8 hours if it's your first time. Print this guide and use it while wrenching:

I'd pull the starter and inspect the flywheel before yanking out the trans.

Could be a bad throwout bearing. I have a bad one and in warmer weather it scrapes when I let the clutch out and drive in a high gear at low speeds.

Changing in 2 weekends from now hopefully.
