spool or locker?

Default spool or locker?

hi i got a question which is better to put in for a rear differential in a 2000 GT a spool or a locker? i don't know that much about spools if they could handle a lot of torque or not.

Spools do not allow the rear wheels to turn at different speeds, they are locked all the time, and really are a track only item. A locker allows you to basicly have a spool when racing and an open diff when not. How much HP and TQ are you making? You probably do not need either of these unless you are above 500rwtq.

I would think a spool type rear end would handle the MOST amount of torque over any other type of gear(?) And yea, don't even THINK of driving on the street with a spool!

i thought that when lockers arent locked they are limited slip[&:]

[sm=icon_ladiesman.gif] simply because you cut out a LOT of moving parts (spider gears etc etc) and directly plants it evenly between the wheels...just get a locker or limited-slip and call it good
