How do U modify stock MAF ?
You can go ahead and grind it up to get a larger bore, BUT, you will have to put it onto a flow table and come up with an accurate transfer function, then stick that data into your ECU.... Simply grinding the MAF will make you run lean, and give you less power.
What is MAF? Mass Air Flow meter, is a pesky device to measure how much air engine is consuming. They are notoriously hard to tune, however once tuned, the tune will last for a very long time, even as engine ages and its volumetric efficiency characteristics change. MAF is also a great thing for radical cam timing.. They are mostly used by OEMs because their longevity when it comes to the tune... In racing manifold pressure is a proffered method for measuring engine load.
For your stock engine MAF is not a bottle neck, so upgrading it to a larger unit will not get you any power improvements, but might decrease the quality of idle.

Hey! check this out http://www.mn12performance.com/mn12how-to/maf/maf.htm
I don't know why they drill it with a 15/ 32 drill however

Uh no, now Im going to put you to shame.
This is so simple, even a caveman (or in your case an idiot) can understand this. Sensor transfer function is associated with the flow of a sensor, in order to convert reference voltage to actual measurements. When you change the flow of MAF sensor, you also have to change its associated transfer function.
Your performance site you referencing sucks badly, so is that article. What happens when you combine narrow mind and bad literature?
This site will teach you the very basics, and it is pretty old, so use it to learn the basics, in todays world things have changed, and now we have different options for modifying our engines. http://www.tccoa.com/articles/intake/index.html

Wow!!! Thanks! This is a great web site. It gave me lots more ideas about games to play with my MAF.
Here's the spook
I have the original MAF housing plus an extra one I can butcher up. The car is running with a C&L 80mm housing right now. I have several tubes for it. The black tube is the only one that does not cause a code for lean condition to come up.
Another thing - Sometimes I smell "rich" from my tail pipes. This started to become obvious when I removed my cats so I started palin games with the MAF. Otherwise the car runs great.
Later I'm off to
grind
If all else fails the stock unit is going back on

Where are you evil genius ?

I modified the stock MAF housing but have yet to install it.
Of course I have no way to tell if the transfer function is the same ( it won't) or if the removal of the big aluminum pilar in the center of the housing screws up the flow. All I can do is check the relative voltages at idle on the MAF housing terminals.
If I at least had a tail pipe sniffer ( CO, H/C ) meter [&o]
