A short throw will do a couple of things for you. It will give you shorter throws from gear to gear, hence the name. The shifter will not have to travel as far to engage the gear. They also are designed to help keep you from missing a gear, such as quickly shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Brands are a matter of opinion. I like my B&M Ripper, you will also get many good comments from other brands such as PRO 5.0, Steeda Tri Axe to name a couple. Forgot to mention, you will notice a difference, night and day over stock.

I personally didn’t like the MGW but the main important job of a shot throw shifter is to keep you from over extending the shifter thus is why they have stops built in to the shifter. That is the main important aspect of the short throw here are the name brands

Pro 5.0 (this is my favorite)
MGW
Tri-AX
UPR
B&M
These are the main ones out there. They are all good.
