Default Drag Racing Condensation Problem

I've got a '99 Cobra all stock except having been lowered. I occasionally race it at Friday night drags. Last time when picking up the timing slip they told me to report to tech because my car had dripped water on the track (big no-no). The inspection did not find any leaks of any kind. When racing I'm careful to always have my AC off the whole time and the comfort setting slightly to warm. Shoot, I don't even use the AC when driving TO the strip. It was cold and very humid that evening. Still, during daily driving I've seen clear water coming from underneath even though I almost never use the AC. It appears to come from the very rear of the engine compartment on the passenger side. Assuming it's from the AC system, why is condensation forming even though the AC system isn't being used? Or is some other component causing it? How do I prevent this from happening again?

Set the control to 'OFF' and not any other setting. The AC condensor is used to dry out the air going through the vents, mostly in the defrost setting.

Also, if your car doesn't get warmed up enough, condensation will collect in your exhaust system.

Thanks for the response. I normally keep it the control to 'Off' but maybe that night I didn't. The bit about the condenser being used to dry the air helps me understand the problem better.

Useing your defroster uses the A/C to dry out the air.
