Roller rockers decrease the friction in the valve train. They cause less valve stem deflection and thus valve guide wear.More accurate valve timing is also possible due to less pushrod flexing.Less pushrod flex equals more uniform cylinder pressures and less chance of intermittent/occasionaldetonation.

+1 on what Chopper said

Roller rockers are an improvement over stock rockers, but you're probably not gonna notice a LOT of difference just by themselves. Now if they were high ratio roller rockers then you're doing something noticeable. Adding high ratio roller rockers will increase valve lift without changing the camshaft.

Make sure the valvetrain geometry is still good with the rockers. It should be, but it's much better to be safe.

Unless you want to go through the expense of a roller cam, the roller rockers sitting on screw in rocker studs with guide plates and hardened push rods are all you really need.
