New Old Stock? Why worry about that?

Jegs and Summit Racing are 2 good sites for engine/tranny parts. Currie Enterprises is great for rear end stuff.

How much power you looking for? You can go from a mild torque-monster to a 514ci supercharged kitten.

http://www.fordclassics.com/enginespecs.htmlfrom what i have read here stock the motor made 365hp
[*]Produced from 1968 to 1996.[*]Available in Ford, Mercury and Lincoln.[*]Same as 429, but with longer stroke. (3.85 inch)[*]During its earlier years, pre 1973, horsepower was rated at 365. After 1972 horsepower ranged from 208 to 275.[*]Intake/exhaust valves are 2.08/1.66[*]Intake/exhaust valves for the Police Interceptor 460 heads (from 1973-'74) measure 2.19/1.66
seeing how mine is coming from a 70 model lincon it should make 365 stock. thinking about ordering a master rebuld kit to start with

You don't need much there. I don't know what your fascination is with New Old Stock, but you'd be best to go aftermarket for better parts.

600 at the rear wheels with a 385 series is a walk in the park, especially if you go with the 514 stroker. Crate engines crank out a reliable 575hp at the flywheel and really aren't too wild. I'm planning a naturally aspirated 514 that will put down about 650hp through a C6. Idle should be around 1k and will only need to spin about 6500.

Throw a blower or nitrous on there and you'll grab 1000hp pretty quickly.
