What does it really matter if water gets in? When the engine is hot it will just evaporate.

But your car is has a carb that is right under your hole. His intake is no where near the hole is going to cut in his hood.

Not destroying his hood liner. And ram air, are his intentions. Ive had mine off for over a decade with no ill effects.

That's right, and make lots'a STEAM in the process too

Yeah, a hot engine and cold water does equal steam. But it can also equal cracked metal. Water in the spark plug holesisn't going to be good, either. Unless you run a pipe from your scoop to the intake, the only thing you gain is a dirty engine and a good place for water to enter.

So it's like a sauna for my engine..

It looks really good in person. Alot better than when it was fake anyways. I think I'm going to do the side scoops too.

S'ok if it only becomes a sauna & not a "crack" house

Actually I've always wanted to make my scoop functional too, but the water issue is to big a pain in the *** to work around.

I was having high hopes for what you were doing... But now that I have read everything. There was no point in cutting a hole in your hood when all the water is just going to soak your engine. Getting it very dirty and just chancing yourself of having an electrical problem. Sure the electrical connections are suppose to be weather tight, but thats not always the case. You will have a big headache when you start corroding your wires, increasing resistance and components not working properly, your engine not working properly and then having a nightmare of a problem trying to trace down the infected connections.. im sorry thats dumb[sm=icon_beat.gif], you need to build ducting from that hood to your intake, and have a bend in it and a weap hole to drain the water. Also make sure you seal the ducting and box around the filter, otherwise its not a true ram air setup.

Sounds like a nice way to ruin a hood.
