Fuctionizing the hood scoop

I was having high hopes for what you were doing... But now that I have read everything. There was no point in cutting a hole in your hood when all the water is just going to soak your engine. Getting it very dirty and just chancing yourself of having an electrical problem. Sure the electrical connections are suppose to be weather tight, but thats not always the case. You will have a big headache when you start corroding your wires, increasing resistance and components not working properly, your engine not working properly and then having a nightmare of a problem trying to trace down the infected connections.. im sorry thats dumb[sm=icon_beat.gif], you need to build ducting from that hood to your intake, and have a bend in it and a weap hole to drain the water. Also make sure you seal the ducting and box around the filter, otherwise its not a true ram air setup.

I'm not done with it yet. I'm not sure if I'm going to attempt some kind of ram air setup or not but either way when I finish it up water getting on the engine will not be an issue. I didn't do this thinking I was going to get some magical gain from it or somthing. The point of doing this was to make it not look so fake. Personally I'm tired of people looking at my hood and saying "oh, it's not even real".. If your happy with your fake scoop then whatever but don't say I've ruined my hood andit was a waste of time b/c it looks alot better then it did before when it looked fake as hell.

That last part wasn't really intended for you. I would like to hear any ideas you may have on what I could do. I'm interested it trying to do some kind of ram air set up but I agree it would be better to do from the bumper. It would probably be alot easier to build too. I think I might just close off the hood scoop from behind it so nothing can get to the engine.
get a Shaker kit instead. Designed to keep the rain out and adds some horses. I think they make them for most mustangs now.... Thought about getting it for my V6 but decided to spend the money on the Mach1 instead.
