Fuctionizing the hood scoop
I'm about to functionize my hood scoop and I'd rather remove the hood liner than cut a hole in it. Just wondering if the heat from the engine will damage the paint or anything before I do it?
There are absolutely no ill effects to removing the hood pad other than sometimes there's no paint on the underside of the hood where it's covered.

Considering that the air intake for the engine is inside the right fender and that there will be no outlet for any air hypothetically brought in by "functionalizing" the scoop to increase engine cooling, this is a complete waste of time.
its not gonna do sh*t. it will give him a "functional" hood scoop that will allow some cool air into the engine bay. its not ram air at all. it would look a lot better if you did just cut a hole that was about the size of the opening in the hood liner. the underside of the hood isnt exactly pretty.and you better come up w/ somethin to stop water from gettin in. youll be kickin urself in the a$$ later if you dont.
