Default 1968 Mustang GT 390 Blueprints

Hi

I'm a 3D modeler and I need to reproduce an accurate 3D model of the Mustang that was in The Bullitt. I'm by no means a mustang expert or for that matter a cars in general, so please correct me if i'm wrong.

As far as I'm aware the car in question is 1968 Mustang GT 390.... I've spent ages trying to find accurate Blueprints with as much detail as possible of the car. I have managed to find just shell elevetions of front, back top & side of a Mustang Fastback (attached) .. is this the same as 1968 Mustang GT 390 or are there slight differences?

Are there any Mustangs 1960-70 that have bump in the hood with a gao in it .. I think it is an air intake in hood (Its probably something else)?

Does anybody have or know when to get accurate blueprints/orthgraphic elevations of either :-

-1968 Mustang GT 390
-Mustang Fastback
-Any Mustangs 1960-70 (with bump in the hood)

If you have blueprints with accurate interior & engine drawings that wiould be a big plus

The blue print at this address is about the best one I can find:

Any Help would be much appriciated

Many Thanks

Wayne

You are looking for 3D coordinates to model an actual production vehicle with?
Slim Chance!

I had to do a similar project in school.
Instead of finding an actual car to take measurements from, we found a 1:10 scale wind tunnel model to use. (the model was left over from the wind tunnel testing we did on experimental cars)
We stuck the model in a 3-axis CNC machine, with a dial gauge installed as a cutting tool. The machine gave us X and Y, and the gauge gave us Z.
In total we took several hundred data points.
Each of those points was entered into a 3D CAD program (CATIA V5).
Then we were able to create a surface model, that exactly replicated the original.

Not sure if you have access to a CNC mill, but it worked quite well for me.
Models of the car should be easy enough to find.

Then again the models probably won't help with the interior.
You may have to use some creativity.

What is this project for????

Hi Jason.... thinking about it now, I'm probably looking for blueprints as on:
http://www.the-blueprints.com/module...iew.php?nr=314

but with a bit more detail if possible.... I think the CNC machine is possibly just a bit too accurate.

Measurements are not a major concern... its the proportions and relationships between components... I will drop the top side & front view into Maya and trace over the top.

The project is for a showreel ... I need this in order to get a job.

Any other ideas on blueprints? What about somthing like a Tecnical Mustang Car Manual?

Thanks
