Default Catalytic Converter

The welds on my converters heat shield have broken over 4 times so untill I could get around to welding it back up I used JBWeld to hold it. Worked fine for a few weeks and broke again. A few people said just yank the thing off saying you dont need it. So do I really need it?

Do you have to go through emissions? If so, then yes you need it. Have it fixed or replace it.

Yeah I do. But I dont see why you need such a useless piece of an exhaust system.

Leave them off, I had mine off for years before I got rid of the cats, never had a problem...
