Looking at the purchase of a 54 Ford pickup with a 289, C4 tranny transplant. Have yet to crawl around to get engine / tranny numbers.

I note that the tranny kick down lever is NOT connected to the Carb ( Edelbrock 4 barrel ).

Any advise on how one would best make the link up ? Any ford part recommendations?

If the lever is there but not connected, you can check with Edelbrock for the carb linkage to make the connection for it. you could also visit the local junk yards for similar engine/tranny combos and see what the linkages look like or take one off and retrofit it to the Edelbrock carb. Kinsler Fuel Injection sells lots of linkage pieces/parts and you can probably get something that will work from Summit or Jegs also.
