Default HELP! Oxy Acetylene

Im getting fox body springs soon and I need to cut them down to lower the car. What is the best way to cut them? My friend has an Oxy acetylene cutter but was wondering if it would get the springs too hot? Should i just saw it down or could I use the cutter. (by the way, he would knows what he is doing with the cutter, hes a metal worker.)

I would not use the oxy/acetylene cutter on the springs as it will affect the heat treatment of the springs. use a portaband saw to cut the springs instead.

Yea don't use a torch - if you do then the temper the springs have will go bye bye. Use either a cutoff wheel or a saw.

Oh, and remember to install them first and cut off little by little.

Hahaha... He can't do that b/c I'm installing them for/with him and I don't have the cutting equipment, someone else does... LET'S HOPE HE GETS IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!
