Default quick question

ok... i know this is a really newbie question, but hey im just starting to get into the innards of cars and i dont know much yet, so i hear alot about 3.73 gears on these forums... what is that?

Gears go in the rear end of your cars and if you got gears then you would have a better punch to the acceleration...doesn't add Horsepower tho...some good gears are 3.55, 3.73. 4.10....the bigger the gear the more punch

it moves the powerband down in the rpm range so the car pulls harder on the bottom end. althogh, the higher gear you go, the slower your top end speed will be
