swapping 4.6 into slk230
i got out of work at 4am today and i went to dunkin donuts and i saw a slk230 parked in the parking lot. it seemed like the 98 model and i was wondering if anyone has heard of someone swapping a v8 into this car. it seems small but the front doesnt seem to be too small to fit a 4.6, and maybe even a nice little kenne bell lol...seems like it would be a very fun car to drive..
has anyone seen this before?

I am thinking that thr 4.6 will not fit without a ton fab work. 4.6's are very wide and deep and that car seems pretty small. Of course anything is possible with enough money but you had better plan speding at least $10,000 unless you own a fab shop and can do the work yourself.

Hey they stick Ford V8's into Miatas so, anything's possible but,.,
Give it a shot if YOU are doing the work
If you have to hire someone else to do the swap then the cost will be too high

It depends what your goals are. If your goals are to have a high HP car that is fast, then you would be better off putting the money into the engine already in it. Their SC 2.3 has a bit of potential. If you just want something very original, then go for it. A built 4.6 with a KB on it would be an interesting swap. Plan to spend in the range of 9-12k for the swap though.

It'd be easier to use a OHV Windsor engine...they are A LOT smaller than the 4.6L.
