Default cutoff switches & security

Hi

I plan to make my car more secure by installing a cut off switch to prevent theft

Where should I hide the switch?

Like turn it off everytime you get out? Or when you leave for an extnded period of time? Inside the frame rail would be good...

Oh yeah, your car already has one It's a fuel cutoff switch inside the trunk!

yeah but you can't activate that one except by running into something or going over a big bump!
thieves know where to look for most obvious switches, so you have to be really original and come up with a location not so obvious, like inside the console under the ash tray or something. or if you don't mind opening the hood to turn it off/on, put it under the hood out of sight. then again you could convert one of the existing dash switches into a security shut off switch too but it would have to be for something you do use, like a rear window defogger.

Really? I thought somewhere for a fuel filter change they just said to flip the switch?

I have an awesome idea... Inside the center console thingo at the bottom... Take a tape case and rip the bottom half off of, place it over the switch....

If a crook even looks in there, all he sees is a tape case...
