Default Clutch cable woes

I have snapped about 4 clutch cables in the past year. They always snap at thequadrant. I have a 1988 LX 5.0. Ihave a king cobra clutch. After the last cable snapped I bought an adjustable quadrant. To no avail the cable snapped again. I also buy the FRPP heavy duty clutch cable. Why does this keep happening?? Im very frustrated with this problem and I know there is some way to fix it. Is the clutch cable fork in the tranny bad? How is the cable supposed to be routed?

Check to be sure the cable isn't rubbing somewhere under the dash through the pedal full range of motion. I have owned 4 mustangs, some with high mileage, ( just changed a cable with 215k on it) and I have never had a cable break.
